How to set an alarm

- Repeat: Tap to set up a reoccurring alarm.
- Label: Tap to name your alarm.

Set the alarm's volume
Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics. Under Ringers And Alerts, drag the slider left or right to set the volume. As you drag, an alert will play, so you can hear how the volume changes. Turn on Change with Buttons to use the volume buttons on your device to change the alarm volume. If the alarm volume is too low or quiet, learn what to do.

How to edit or delete an alarm
To edit an alarm:
- Open the Clock app and tap the Alarm tab.

To delete an alarm:
- Swipe left over the alarm and tap Delete.

Get help with alarms
Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch don't affect the alarm sound. If you set your Ring/Silent switch to Silent or turn on Do Not Disturb, the alarm still sounds.
If you have an alarm that doesn’t sound or is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:
- Set the volume on your iPhone. If your alarm volume is too low or too loud, press the volume button up or down to adjust it. You can also go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the slider under Ringers And Alerts.
- If your alarm only vibrates, make sure that your alarm sound isn't set to None. Open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound.
- If you use iOS 11 or later and you connect headphones or speakers to your iPhone, the alarm plays at a set volume through the built-in speakers on your iPhone as well as wired headphones and speakers. It doesn't play through wireless headphones and speakers.
Manually adjusting your iPhone’s time in Settings to change app behavior, like game timers, isn’t recommended and can affect alarms.

How to set an alarm on Mac with the Apple Calendar
The Apple Calendar is the place for all things schedule-related, including alarms. To set a one-time alarm, you have to first create an event.
- Click on the Launchpad, then click on the Calendar app.
- Double-click the date that you want to set the alarm on.
- Right-click your preferred time slot and select New Event.
- Enter the name for your event, then click on the date and time section.
- Enter the time that you want the alarm to go off, then click on None next to alert.
- In the pop-up menu click Custom…, then Message. Click on Message with sound and choose an alarm chime.
- Select how many minutes before the event you want the alarm to go off, then click OK.
Any alarm that you set in your Mac Calendar app with automatically sync with your iPhone or iPad, so if you’re away from your computer you will still receive the alert.

Easy ways to set alarms and timers on Mac

There’s a stand-alone Birthday Calendar in Apple’s native app. If it doesn’t appear in your Calendar by default, you can easily add it in Preferences > General > Show birthday calendar.

Plus, you get to choose the appearance of the event and the app offers some pretty amazing themes. The event design is basically its main benefit. It’s pretty cool to wait for a concert that looks like fireworks every time you open the app.
Sleep and wake times for Mac
You can set your computer to wake up and go to sleep at specific time of the day, or customize sleeping time for when your Mac in inactive:
- Open System Preferences on Mac.
- Click on the Energy Saver icon.
- In the bottom right corner of the screen, select “Schedule.”
- Tick the box next to “Start up or wake” to create a daily schedule for your Mac and choose the time. If needed, add sleeping time as well.
- Click OK.
In the same menu, customize additional sleeping settings by toggling on Power Adopter: Set your hard disks to sleep when possible, prevent Mac from sleeping when the display is off, etc.
